EU-Japan cooperation on defence capabilities: possibilities?

Co-authored with Daniel Fiott of EUISS on EU-Japan defence technology and equipment cooperation. Although there are a number of obstacles and it is hardly an easy area for the bilateral relationship, there are still possibilities worth exploring.

This is one of the outcomes of a project led by Luis Simon at VUB in Brussels and we held two workshops, first in Tokyo in January 2020 and second in Brussels in March the same year. Many thanks for those who made the project possible.
